ColumnBase is professional software for design of the base plates and anchor rods in steel structures. ColumnBase is based on three-dimensional finite element analysis that uses FEA results for the design of all parts in the column-base connections.

With ColumnBase any designer engineer could do :

1- Calculation of Base plate thickness and its dimensions.
2- Design of anchor bolts diameter, embedded length, embedded types (Hooked or Headed type), and user-defined arrangement of anchor bolts.
3- Modeling of stiffeners in the base plate connections and design of stiffeners to find the best stiffener thickness and its height.
4- Finite element modeling of column section in base plate connections and check the column capacity near the plate and stiffeners zone.
5- Design of grout below the base plate for the required thickness and material strength.
6- Design of concrete footing/pedestal/foundation for bearing stress.
7- Acquiring the real rotational stiffness of base plates to use in structural analysis software such as SAP2000, ETABS, STAAD, MIDAS and etc.
